Why Organic Egyptian
Every parent wants the softest, safest fabrics against their baby’s skin. But not all “natural” fabrics are created equal.
The Finest Cotton in the World
Egyptian cotton is widely recognised as the finest cotton on earth. Grown along the banks of the Nile Delta, its extra-long staple fibres (35–40mm) produce yarns that are naturally softer, smoother and stronger than ordinary cotton. The result is fabric that feels silky from the first wear and actually gets softer with every wash.
Why Egyptian Cotton, Not Bamboo?
Many popular baby brands use bamboo viscose blends, often marketed as “natural” or “silky soft.” What they don’t tell you is that bamboo fabric is a regenerated fibre — the raw bamboo is broken down using chemical solvents and reconstituted into a textile. The finished fabric is typically blended with other fibres, and the processing removes many of the properties that made bamboo appealing in the first place.
Egyptian cotton requires no chemical transformation. It is picked, spun and woven — nothing more. What touches your baby’s skin is pure cotton, exactly as nature intended.
Softness That Lasts
Bamboo blends may feel silky at first, but many parents notice they lose their softness quickly, thin out after repeated washing and begin to pill. Egyptian cotton’s extra-long fibres create a tighter, more durable weave that resists pilling, holds its shape and stays beautifully soft for years — not weeks.
Naturally Breathable, Naturally Regulating
Egyptian cotton breathes. Its fine weave allows air to circulate freely, wicking moisture away from your baby’s skin. The result is a fabric that keeps babies warm in winter and cool in summer — without overheating. For newborns who cannot yet regulate their own temperature, this matters.
Gentle on Sensitive Skin
Our cotton is GOTS certified organic — grown without pesticides, synthetic fertilisers or harmful chemicals at any stage. It is naturally hypoallergenic, making it ideal for babies with eczema or sensitive skin. No chemical finishes. No synthetic dyes. Just cotton.
Certified to the Highest Standards
Every Caico garment carries the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification — the world’s leading standard for organic textiles. This means the entire supply chain, from the cotton field to the finished garment, has been independently audited and verified. Our factory holds Fairtrade certification, and all hardware uses YKK nickel-free fasteners.
The Caico Difference
We believe children deserve the very best natural fabrics — not marketing claims dressed up as quality. Our clothing is made from 100% organic Egyptian cotton, designed by parents, and crafted to last through the earliest years of childhood and beyond.
